Down for the the count

It's been a while since my last post, mainly because I've had quite a bit of pain in my left butt cheek and leg. I feel it most when I sit down and I have to grit my teeth when driving. I've had what I thought was a pulled muscle of some sort for a while and I was seeing a Chiropractor which seemed to help until last Thur. I'm not sure what did it but I was moving the "Pancake shack" around by myself Thurs (dumb) and I started to notice my usual pain flaring up again. I didn't think much of it until Friday morning when I got up to go to work and I could barely walk. It hurt so bad I had to wake up Melinda to help me put on my shoes. I went to work anyway hoping the pain would subside but it didn't so I made an appointment with the Chiro again but it didn't seem to help either.

After that didn't help I decided to go see a regular Dr. and he seems to think I've got a disc in my lower back outta whack and it's hitting a nerve. He said they will usually heal on their own if I take it easy and stay off the bike. WHAT????!!!!! I did ask if I can go on the CRAWL next weekend and he gave me the OK for that but not much else. After a very painful weekend that involved only standing or laying down I decided I needed some relief.

This morning I headed to JC to the walk-in orthopedic clinic and got hooked up with some good painkillers and talked to a better suited doctor. He pretty much summed it up the same as the 1st doc but at least no one is talking surgery. Hopefully I'll be back at it in a week or so but until then I guess I'll be just reading about people riding their bikes.

At least I didn't loose my leg like this poor guy. I wonder how he's getting around. I found this deer leg at the trailhead on one of our local hiking trails.
I've not made any more progress on project "CrissCross" but I hope to soon. Sorry if my grammar is a little off, I can feel the Lora tabs kicking in.
